Scout kerbweight

Featured Replies

In the new Oct - Dec brochure it says the kerbweight of the diesel Scout is 1530kg yet the payload is 660kg. Compare this to the standard 4 x 4 figures of 1625kg and a payload of 505kg. Something's not right! I reckon it's a misprint and the kerbweight should be 1630kg. (Kerbweight is important to a caravanner!)

Does anybody know the correct figures?

in my brochure it says the same, but its a earlier one, cant be a misprint surely in both brochures?

i woudl have thought the scout drivetrain wasnt a heavy as the 4x4 making it lighter, but being a more advanced system meant you can put more into the scout, it is afterall more expensive

On reflection woodenspatulas I think you're right. The petrol Scout has a similar kerbweight reduction. I wonder how Scoda has managed such a big weight reduction (6%) and put on 17" alloys and added some extra toys. Maybe changing the bumpers has an effect or some bits are now aluminium.

Hopefully it will still be able to tow my caravan without too much trouble.
