created a thread a while ago about the over revving of my 2003 Octavia 1.9 sdi - Everytime i am doing 90mph on the motorway the car is doing 5000 revs, very abnormal.

Clutch is fine - this problem has only started after i had a reconditioned gearbox fitted.

I would like to know if anybody knows what type of gearbox should of been fitted and preferably the part number of the gerbox that should of been fitted , Can anybody also tell me if i can locate the part number on the actual gearbox so i can check if i have been sold the wrong part.

Preaty sure Sdi is 68 bhp, about 50 Kw in which case it is engine code AQM, therefore gearbox should be DUS, hence part code 02K 300 049 or 02K 300 049X. Not sure on the differnce though. Code should be stamped on the gearbox some where.
