Octavia pre '04

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm considering buying a pre-2004 petrol-engined Octavia. I would prefer an estate, but I'm told that:

1) There are fewer decent 2nd-hand estates around to choose from by far.

2) Both the estate and hatch have the same overall body length and wheelbase anyway.

Could anybody advise me as to whether or not the estate has a wider boot aperture and/or a lower loading sill than the hatch? This would determine my final choice of car.

Thank you.

Jeremy.

Welcome to Briskoda mate.

Not sure on your querie but there will be people able to help.

I find my vRS estate so much better than the hatch octy I owned.

Mind you I have two labradors so the added height of the boot always helps.

Just be aware of the rust issues with the Combi tailgate.

It will be covered under warranty but take care :)

And welcome :)

We have both an Estate & a Saloon, The carying capacity of the Estate is significantly more than the saloon, its also so much easier to get large objects into the Estate due to the larger opening

If you widen your choice to include diesels there will be many more cars to choose from, if you can stretch to the L&K spec you get full leather, Heated Seats, Nicer wheels, Xenon lights, better stereo, etc etc
