New alloy wheels for Superb

Featured Replies

Hi all. I've been looking to change my Superb but cannot find anything I like at the moment so thought I would spruce the old girl up a bit by fitting some new alloys.

I currently have 17" wheels but was thinking of going to 18's. Is this going to affect the ride dramatically or would it be best to stick with the 17 inch wheels?

I particularly like the look of the wheels on Baker21's lovely Superb - if you are reading this Baker21, what make are they? I realise they are 19" but maybe they are also available in 17" or 18".

Any other suggestions (with photos if possible) for replacement wheels would be appreciated. :)

Yep I am here mate.....

The ride will be different but this also varies depending on what profile tyre you choose with your wheel size....usually the lower the profile the harder the ride....

My wheels are ASA AR1's but they no longer produce these however they have released a new version of it that look much better...

The only thing to bear in mind with fitting larger wheels is that you may suffer from the 'tractor look' if you don't lower it but I understand that this isn't everyone's cup of tea....

18's would be a sensible upgrade and like my recent change to some black 18's they didn't look that big but this was due to the low profile I was running on the tyre....

Here are some pics for thought:

Many thanks Baker21. I prefer the look of the silver wheels to the black. I will have a look around and see what is available.

Plenty of wheels on the market mate and if I were you I would look on Edition38 classifieds as that's where I bought the Black Rims from.....loads of choice on there...

That's the way it goes I guess.......I would be confident that the tyres on mine are more than likely better than most.....

What do they look like buddy?

I'll take some pics on saturday. They all have slight curbing round the rim, but it is passenger side front which is almost half curbed. Not me, was obviously those police drivers previous to me!!

Not a dig at all Baker. IIRC I didn't even haggle on the asking price as I new it was a very fair price... as you rightly say, the tyres are pretty much worth the price alone!! Looking forward to getting my mitts on them tomorrow!:D

FSD's and Eibach's........sounds nice mate......the 'OEM+ Man's' choice of suspension judging by setups that I have read about on various forums....

Indeed. I want to IMPROVE the ride quality and lower at the same time. For those requirements theres nothing else out there imho.

Nah mate.......just that there seems to be a bit of hype on this forum and others about the FSD and Eibach combination and that there is nothing better........

Can I do the wheel change myself or do I need to get it done by a pro? Is it just like changing a flat lol?
