also would like to point out the fact that my car came standard with a alpine header unit and 6 cd changer in the boot, just in case this makes a differance ?

Hahaha! Oh you'll have fun doing this!! I've had a sub fitted in both my fabias. My 1.4 took hours!! My vRS was a bit quicker....but still a royal PITA. Take the glove box out a search in the engine bay for a rubber gromit thing with a wire coming through already, thats your best bet. There really is next to no other way of getting through. In the vRS there was a handy gromit thing, we cut another hole in it and used 'car lube' to help ease the wire through next to the other one

ooooh bugger, i need the sub but struggle to get time to do anything like this because of working silly hours! in a complete car n00b, any tips at all and how long do you think it will take???

i tryed wiring it between the front left panel and the mid left panel but with it being a skoda the panel gaps are real small and it soon cut through the cable ... bugger.

Taking the glovebox out is easy, you need to take the door off by popping out the 2 plastic pins at the hinge with the door open, then remove a few (~?6) black torx screws around the glovebox area and pull it out. Takes 5 mins at most; I thnk it's a T20 torx bit, but try it and see, I might be wrong.

You might see somewhere to put it through then, try it. If you see a rubber circle thing in the bulkhead, try and pop it out, see if you can fit the cable through.

If need be, drill a hole in the bulkhead, the car probably leaks anyway :)

i found mine by doing the above and pulling the carpet down a bit (was quite tough and even harder to get back) took a while about half hour though.

yeah the torx screws are a bugger cos I only have normal screwdrivers lol. My sub at the moment is earthed to my boot catch as the was a random spare nut on it doing nothing!! Other than that it means drilling a hole in your boot for earthing. Takes a good couple of hours I'd say, especially with finding a route through into the engine bay. As I say, the only way really is look for a wire thats already going through
