From Gasoline to Diesel - Easy?

Featured Replies

Hi

Because of the rising Gasoline prices in Denmark( the price will exceed 1.5 pound per litre next year) i am thinking about rebuild my Skoda Felicia to the AEF Diesel motor, and run it on vegetabil oil( Cooking oil or corn oil)

But how much do i need to rebuild it to Diesel.

I am thinking about buying a complete( Maybe rear wrecked) Felicia 1.9 SDI, and move the motor over.

But how about the abs pump, servo pump and all that, is that the same on 1.9 SDI AEF as on the 1.6 AEE?

Best Regards

Morten

to be honest, it's a bit of a non starter... too much work involved, you'd need to change all sorts of stuff over as well as the engine... maybe easier just to sell your felicia and go and buy a diesel one

Its really quite simple.

Find yourself a diesel Felicia and buy it. Then sell your petrol Felicia.

Job done!

It really is sooooo much work its really not worth it.

Also the standard injectors/pumps would get clogged with veggie oil as I understand it.

It's possible but likely extremely hard work. You would have to swap over engine, transmissions, front suspension, ECU, wiring looms, tank, etc etc.

it may be even easier to move your non-wrecked rear over to the Diesel!

Serious advice: Better shop about for a diesel from now and sell your petrol before prices do go up...

Good luckBas

just to add to basil, you would need the dashboard loom and fusebox too

remember a friend doing this with a 60's camper,it was an absolute night mare, and that wouldn't be half as complicated as this as the engine he used was prehistoric by comparison to what you are suggesting,:D
