windows XP services

Featured Replies

I put a new motherboard in my sons computer at the weekend and took the opportunity to format the hard disc and do a clean installation of Windows XP MCE.

Now have a problem - a lot of the services need to be started manually although they are showing up as "automatic".

Some of them: DHCP client, DNS, Windows installer - in other words, important ones. If you restart they all revert to "stopped".:confused::confused:

Any ideas what the problem could be? :)

Check the event log, they may give you a clue.

If they are automatic, but stopped, that means they *try* to start, but fail.
