a question for our part number experts

Featured Replies

after having my door mirror cover smashed to bit by some kind sole

I phoned the dealer for a price on the park to be told that it is £47.00 + vat and painting.

In a moment I thought that I would call the local VW dealer to see what price a cover is for a mark 4 golf £19.63 + VAT

So here is the big question does anyone know or can anyone confrim that the covers are the same on the golf as the octiavia?

or if i quote the part number inside that it will be the same though the VW group for that cover or is it that vw use different part numbers to skoda?

No they are different numbers.Vw don't use that part number on any of there vehicles.

The golf mirror is cheaper but sadly won't fit.

I doubt you would be able to order the skoda part through the vw dealer even though they are both in the vag group but you could try.

Golf Mk4 mirror glass will fit vRS, covers will be different (i reckon)

Well even the part numbers for mirror are different. I wouldn't know if they fit though.

Speaking from own experience, the mirror glass will fit, as long as you go for the same tint (blue-ish). The only thing that you will find is that the connector for the heating are located elsewhere so you will need to extend the wires slightly. Other than that, it is a straight fit (I know, cos I have one after they stole mine)

Yes they are different, and 47 is about right...most Skoda dealers you will find are the same price too.....

was worth a try

thanks for your help

Couple being broken for spares at the mo' on fleabay... you may get the whole mirror for that price and may not need to get it painted if they're breaking the same colour as yours...???

Just a thought..:(
