Tiscali Broadband + Phone + TV

Featured Replies

Looking at changing my Broadband ISP, I'm currently with PLUSNET (Force9), and have have had not major problems (except the connection dropping a few times yesterday) but they don't really do a good deal on Broadband+Phone i.e. Stop paying BT line rental for a phone I don't use that much - And there broadband allowances are quite restrictive.

Was looking at Be Broadband because I can get the 24Mbit in my area: Chester North. Then I came across Tiscali Broadband+Phone+TV for £25: Only 8Mbit which is okay for now; free line rental and selected TV (I'm a bit of a SciFi fan so mainly for Sky One and SciFi channels).

So if anybody is using this how is the Quality-Of-Service? Can I take content off the TV and save to my laptop for later viewing and is the quality of the content ok (normal TV quality?)

Any thoughts and scare stories please let me know.

sky has got a refer a friend scheme on at the moment, free sky+ box, 50 quid voucher for you and the person refering you (m&s), eve and we calls on land line, 2mb bb and four mixes for 30 quid a month including line rental.

I reckon they'll give you free installation as well.

of course, you could add extra mixes, faster bb but the price goes up a little.

pause live tv!

I'll refer you :D:D:D

Sky are strangling the market and overpriced for content PLUS I'm not allowed a dish because I live in a graded building.

If you receive TV down the internet you may get away with not having a TV licence.

A TV licence authorises you to receive broadcast signals on a TV receiver - it should not be necessary to receive via a computer and broadband.
