2x 7950GT in SLI or 8800 series??

Featured Replies

I've just got myself a BFG 8800GT OC, also upgraded to intel E6750. I'll have to run 3dmark on mine.

Got the q6600 running at 2.7ghz .

You can go higher belive me, I'm running on air and got CPU-Z Validator Database

Been like this since I got the quad about 3 months ago and not a peep out of it.....rock solid

Update...Got myself a Inno3D 8800GT and it's awesome! Splashed out on a Q6600 processor at the same time. Upped my 3dmark 06 score from 4500 to 12100 now. Tweaked them slightly too. Got the q6600 running at 2.7ghz and a 10% overclock on the 8800GT. As a bonus, the 8800GT card

was £170 and I've got the old 7950GT on Ebay for £50 with 2 days to go.

£170!!!

i paid £140 delivered the day it came out :D

also 3dmark scroes don't really mean a lot for games as it takes account of the entire system, a mate has the Q6600 but a cack gpu so scores lots better than us but his games run like poop.

Anybody reccomend a good overclocking utility.

what do you want to overclock?

Anybody reccomend a good overclocking utility.

If you want to OC the system, then the bios is your best option have a google for some guides to help you get an idea of the various adjustments and how far you can take them.

Which mobo you using ??

trouble is there will be better programs depending on what you want to tweak be it the gpu/video ram/system ram/cpu(fsb or multiplier).

My cpu is overclocked using Foxconn software called "Fox One" Very easy to use which was a good thing as my bios is a nightmare to configure for overclocking. The graphics card is oc using Rivatuner which is a fantastic and easy to use program

if you have a nforce mobo use ntune for the cpu/ram timings etc... and use atitool for gpu

Running an E6750, 2GB OCZ RAM, 8800 GT and an MSI NEO2-FR motherboard.

Dont know about your mobo, but I'd deffinately use Rivatuner for your 8800gt. Put the settings upto core 700, shader 1700 and memory 1000. Thats the settings I use a nd have no problems

Running an E6750, 2GB OCZ RAM, 8800 GT and an MSI NEO2-FR motherboard.

Looks like a good combo of gear, you should yield some good results with that lot

The bios should be decent enough on that board to allow some adjustment

Ive had a play with rivatuner, nice and simple to use. I'll have to get to grips with bios overclocking now. Its all new to me, I'll google for some guides as suggested.

Many thanks everyone.
