CH Changer Issues again

Featured Replies

yet another post about the VAG boot mounted cd changer

beeen having isues where the sound coming through, is that of blown speakers--really muffled and barely understandable. however on radio and tape, its crystal clear.

then the other day, it packed up completely stating "MECHANIC" on the headunit.

Took into skoda and, for free, they tok it in the bay, took out the radio, cd changer, ran a continuity test on the wiring loom from h/u to changer, and put al back together.

The conclusion? Headunit should be fine, cd changer 'seems' ok. possibly a problem with the wiring loom!!

Good 700 quid or so they reckon. not to mention if the changer is knackered, another 400 quid.

Anybody ever had any similar issues, and solutions?

Tbh i have now ordered a new kenwood touchscreen job, as cant be bothered with boot changer anymore
