Hello and Bonjour from Switzerland. New to Briskoda and greatly enjoying what I read. A couple of months ago I traded-in my Golf Plus 140 TDI for an Octavia 105 TDI 4x4. Nice machine to drive but the difference in get up and go is very noticable compared to the Golf +. The salesman recomends ABT chip-tuning to help me speed up - but my regular VW garage chief mechanic is not at all enthusiastic about chips. Please advise..! Is it good or bad..? Will engine life be reduced..? Is the difference worth the money - here in Switzerland the job costs 1,600 Swiss francs - about £700.

A search should answer any general questions you have about remapping. Can't really help too much with specific advice on Abt, because they really only seem to cover the German speaking market as a rule.
