Under engine Plate: Oil Removal

Featured Replies

Hi

Can anyone tell me how to remove the engine cover plate underneath front engine compartment? I removed all six torx screws and three bolts at the back but the plate does not move, neither forward nor rearward.

Hints, please !!!!

You´ve got to be kidding !!! Buying a Vaccum Oil pump ? Surely there must be a way to remove the plate, unscrew a plug, drain the oil, and replace the oil filter .:)

What car is it??

There are a couple of screws in the wheel archs on the Supurbs...

Sorry, we are talking about a 2002 Skoda Octavia Ambient. 1.6 liters engine, 5-speed manual.

:D

PD: When I removed all the screws and bolts the rear of the plate tended to drop a couple of inches, but the rest seems to be hold or tighten in the front of the car.

You might struggle a bit for definative advice here I'm afraid.

Most of the regular techies are UK based, and our cars have a plastic aerodynamic sump cover under them, not a metal sumpguard.
