i'v got this bar ,its for a standerd 4x4 so the ball is a little higher when fitted to a SCOUT, not a bad thing in my opinion, i got my car June 07 so not a lot of options around !

Towsure were out of stock last week so I went elsewhere locally.

Buy the your Scout in Sweden, Towbar is fitted here as standard. No one here would bay a stationwagon in this country if a towbar wasen't fitted as standard.

In view of the many options now available to different cars via software changes and in view of the varied knowledge of dealers and suppliers as demonstrated in this thread , Sweden's stance with regard to towbars makes a lot of sense . However a standard procedure where any towbar retro fitted has to utilise all the car's built in stability and safety systems etc. , would in my opinion also be necessary in any future legislation .

I had a towbar fitted to my Scout prior to delivery by my dealer through a third party specialist . It is not a detachable system , and I believe it was sourced from Westphalia .

I was informed that the converter used to change from a ?11 pin to a 7 pin system , which I use , contained a circuit which disabled the parking system . .........??

The other interesting feature , was that there was no documentation , advice , or instructions as to the use of this addition .

All I can tell you is that when I am towing , the parking sensors are disabled ( in reverse ! ) .
