Leaking Fabia vRS and paint on front valance

Featured Replies

My wife's 06 plate Fabia vRS has developed a massive damp patch in the offside rear foot well. We took it into Chatham Skoda near where we live in Dunfermline on Saturday and they advised that it was probably the rear door seal. The amount of water that has leaked into the car is just phenomenal. The carpet has been completely ruined and will have to be replaced, which means taking out the whole of the interior. We are currently waiting for the results of their findings to confirm if it is definitely the door seal. The service guy at Chathams said that he had a vRS in with the same problem a week before. Has anyone else heard of or had experience of a vRS letting in water like this?

Also. the paint is cracked at the small ridge on the front valance and has started to flake off a little. This seems pretty unusual for a car that is only 17 months old. Chatham have agreed to refinish the valance in their bodyshop but again I am surprised at this having actually happened, especially considering the car has only covered 13K. Again, has anyone heard of this happening to theirs or a friends vRS.

Any comments/thoughts would be appreciated.

On the upside my wife has been given a Roomster Scout as a courtesy car until this is sorted out and it is a nice wee car to drive, if a bit underpowered.

Cheers

door seal/inner panel water leaks are very common the Fabia , loads of threads on here about it

also paint flaking on the front bumper/valance has been reported before on here

Thanks for reassuring me. It is a real pain for my wife, as she loves the car and is missing not being able to use it at the moment. Just thought it was a bit unusual especially on a new car for the paint to be coming off. I've got an old Octavia 20V Turbo and have had no problems with it at all.

Cheers

Ian
