Featured Replies

Hello!

I would like to know how can I check glow plugs with VAG-COM. I have problem with cold start.

Is it possible to see if something is wrong with glow plug?

Thanks!

usually a scan on engine module will show glow plug faults...on mine the code even gave the number of plug if i remember right...

tdiclub forum had interesting page for further glow plug testing...http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=79819....[server seems to be down at moment]

With my 1999 Octavia 1.9 AGR engine the ECU does not sense faulty glow plugs (only one of mine currently works and I get no fault codes....)

My glow plug harness has two wires going to it (each of which splits inside the harness to feed each glow plug)

Harnesses that have four wires going to them should diagnose glow plug issues (I think) As should pumpe duse engines

Mercedes Diesel Glow Plug Repair

shows some glow plug testing procedures for a Mercedes.

not all relevant but gives an overview of how to test

For skodas start by testing the resistance (ohms) of each plug. pop the wiring harness off the glow plugs and test between earth and the end of each plug.
