Hi All,

Looking for some help, my mate has a Seat Toledo 110TDi (Same as that in the Octavia Elegance 110) anyway last week his oil seals went resulting in a very dead car.

He's been quoted £2k plus for a recon engine which effectively writes off the car as it is only worth about 2.5 - 3K anyway.

He's gutted understandably but has decided to see if he can find a second hand block maybe out of an insurance write off etc to get his loved car back on the road.

He lives in Bexley (kent) and I was wondering if any of you nice chaps / chapesses out there could recommend anywhere he could go to source a new lump.

He's not looking for a new block, too expensive but he'd be happy with a used or reconned one if the price is right.

Cheers for that info, I've passed it onto my mate, I've also suggested he contact Impossible Performance as he is not to far from them and they are very good. I was most impressed with the service when I had my re-map done by them.

If he was near me I'm sure I could have sourced a full engine, carried out a full service /cambelt/waterpump and fitted it for under 1k.

Look on ebay, they go around the £500 mark, obviously you got to pay someone for some labour then and you want it well serviced (at the specialist trade price the cambelt kit/water pump is pushing £130 alone, before you add on other service parts/new clutch etc if needed).
