Front arb, is it worth it?

Featured Replies

I am having Eibachs fitted tomorrow, well today, and have a front arb sat in the garage.

Is it worth having it fitted at the same time, or was it a waste of money.

Opinions seem to be divided, and I can't make my mind up.

Which ARB is it Mr G?

Steve

It's a red one:confused:

It fits underneath the doodah at the front, and hangs down a bit.

Fat Boy Slim was going to fit it for me at the camping meet, but we were all too ****ed to do it, so it's sat in the garage.

Sounds like the lower ARB then, possibly an Eibach one. Just thought I'd ask as I'm sure others have removed these, because they sit too low and catch stuff on the road :(

I thought as much.

I might as well take it anyway and get them to face it up to check the height off the road.

I run over enough rabbits as it is:O

Yep, take it down for a test fit and see what you think. Coupled with the lower ride height from the Eibach springs, I reckon it'll be a no go though :(

You just having springs fitted later?

What sort of stuff, pedestrians, sheep, other stuff that doesn't really matter?

Where do you normally drive?

IIRC, people had issues with it grounding out...

Yup, just the springs.

There are a few niggly bits need doing, i.e. my suspension bushes need a look see, I suspect the throttle body needs cleaning ( it seems to be lacking something ) two tyres are needed shortly, so the fsd's will have to wait:(

Plus I have a set of spiders in the garage that need a refurb and four tyres, so money is a bit thin atm.

Apart from that, I have just paid off and cut up all of my credit cards, so I now have no fallback of 'emergency' money.

Good stuff - Cupra bushes should sort you out

See that refurb thread running at the mo, for details of a place I've used on the edge of Liverpool. Worth a call and excellent prices and standard  - then Camskill for 4x Toyo T1-Rs for them :D

I forgot to take it.......

DOH!

It didn't need bushes either, as I mollycoddle it and never thrash it, and avoid potholes.:)

It wouldn't make any diffence if it handled like a go kart, as I am a poo driver and am scared of corners anyway:rofl:

Why did you get Eibachs fitted again? :D

Much more planted, with more steering input.
