Radio decoding

Featured Replies

My neighbour just replaced his wifes M reg Punto with a similar aged Corsa

Only thing is the Stereo needs decoding.

Its one of those standard Vauxhall fit things

I forgot to ask if he had a Vauxhall handbook as they are sometimes in there.

Could it be on the headunit itself (written on the label) Or will it need decoding and how much will this probably cost?

you might be lucky to find an online decoder company who can do it over the web (with google) otherwise pull it out and see if its written on it, you never know ;)

just womdering if sticking it in the freezer would work like with the old rover stereos?

the code is 99% likely to be on a sticker on the radio itself :)

There's usually a blank space on the stereo, where it's been torn off.

If it's not there, get the serial number and try some of the online decoders, or talk to a dealer.

Thanks!!

I'll give it a whirl!!

It's about £14 for a dealer to decode the stereo.
