Does the HP Laserjet 1100 support PCL2?

Featured Replies

Would anyone know if the HP Laserjet 1100 supports PCL2? Also anyone any pointers to how to create a PCL2 test file in Windows XP that could be piped to it to test? (Probably need to install a suitable 'old' print driver and print to file I guess).

I think the 1100 printer is a PCL6 type and I thought it all back compatible...

Oooch

You may struggle there.. IIRC the lj1100 is a "winprinter" whereby all the heavy processing is done by the host computer..

PCL printers are "suppost" to be backwards compatible.. but it rarely works like that

All i can say is to try get hold of a PCL2 print file on the net and chuck it at the printer.

Try the driver for the HP III or IIIp

If it can't print with them, you will need to get a specific driver as they work with every B&W laser printer i have ever tied (HP or not). If it is the one I'm thinking of then colin is correct in saying it's a GDI printer, which is a bit of a PITA :(
