Vrs Tyre life - compare

Featured Replies

My Vrs Estate has just rolled onto 12k and the front Conti's (18") need replacing.:(

Looking at a variety of threads I seem to be very much on the low side but can I be specific and ask other Vrs owners with 18's to advise me on what sort of tyre life they're getting.

I'm running Michelin Pilot Exalto 2s in 225/40 18 on my vRS TDI.

I've done 12,000 miles so far, do not shy away from using the available performance and with regular measuring of tread depth reckon I will get 18-20,000 miles from the fronts and 30,000 miles on the rears. Mind you they ought to last as they were around £150 per tyre.

Replaced my fronts at about 18 500 miles. I've swapped them front to back, so now just waiting for what was the rears to wear out so I can get a matching set all round back.

Ah; but what make?

I am about to change my front Conti's tomorrow. I have managed to get 16,000 from them, which is not bad considering.

I am about to try some Falken FK452's. Anyone had any experience of them?

I have just changed one of my front tyres (Dunlop SP Sprot Max) and I have only done 10,500 miles. I am not the first owner of the car and the reason I only had one changed was because the previous owner had had a puncture on the other front and has replaced it with a new tyre. So I had one very worn tyre on the pasenger side and one good one on the drivers side. My wheels are 18" and I have the TDi VRS. I am on a Skoka maintenance contract deal so all my tyres are replaced for free for the next 3 years so not too bothered about how long they last at the moment. The tyre that has just been put on is a continental so we will see how long that lasts!!
