Water leak from door fixed I hope

Featured Replies

I have a Fabia 1.9 Diesel estate on a 55 plate. Found a wet patch on the floor of the near side rear foot well and as the car is under warranty (and having read that it is a problem) took it to the dealers and they have resealed all the doors. I was interested to read on the paperwork I got back the following. They had done a water test and found water leaking past door cassette and resealed the door and all other doors as per bulletin. so it looks as if it goes in for one door they reseal all of them so if its in a service bulletin its obviously a known problem bur I gather from some of the posts Skoda won't admit its a problem. Now all I need is a good downpour of rain to find out if the seals work, should not have to wait to long :o

I have also been told that if a dealer is presented with a Fabia with one door leaking, Skoda UK tell them to reseal all four. Fine if your car is in warranty, but expensive if it isn't as they charge about £70 per door. I was fortunate that the dealer I bought my car from paid for the two rears to be repaired but now the fronts are leaking too, so I'll be resealing them myself.

Skoda UK initially told me that there was no issue with water ingress through the doors of Fabias, but did eventually admit that there was when I asked why they had instructed the dealers to seal all the doors under warranty rather than just one which was reported as leaking. Still wouldn't cough up to repair mine as it was over 3 years old though.
