Problems

Featured Replies

Hi picked up the felicia diesel today. Two problems:

1 The barrel lock in the drivers door just spins so i have to lock the car from the passenger side, the central locking works.

2 The key has a flat battery in it does anyony know what tpype it is.

Thanks

The spinning barrel is an anti-theft feature, however it relies on springs to provide enough resistance when you're using the proper key. Maybe a liberal dose of WD-40 or similar would help? Can't help with the battery type off the top of my head, but it should be easy enough just to take the old one with you next time you're going to the shops, or if you're getting desperate, show it to a jeweller, who'll know exactly what you're after...

The key is a passive transponder RFID chip like on supermarket goods which is powered by the ignition activated transducer (I think) wrapped around the ign barrel. No battery in it.

A joke?

A lug on the back of the lock barrel is broken or one of the plastic ends on the lock mechanism rods has broken or disengaged.

maybe he means the light:rofl:

I actually put a new battery in the key for the light :o

...only to discover that the LED didn't work anyway :P
