312's fitted, piccy's inside

Featured Replies

Got the new brakes fitted while i was getting my HELIX clutch and Single Mass Flywheel put in.

The brakes came from a delivery mileage Audi TT 225 quattro, they are 312mm discs and have been grooved :DD

The pads are still bedding in and havent really had a chance to use them properly yet in this weather but they seem good!!

Just before anyone says the suspension is high thats getting sorted in the new year when i get my Eibachs fitted as the mechanic ran out of time :noo:

heres the pics

Cool - I do like the octy 17s on the fabia. Show up the brakes much better.

i know its actually made me dislike the octy spiders as the show off the brakes too much, fair enough look smart on the front but just highlights how weedy the rear brakes are.

Think i need more spokes lol!

you should see how pathetic looking the 206 GTI front discs are then - probably wouldn't go fast enough to need bigger though!

/\ parked up beside a 180 206 gti today by chance and noticed even on that the front brakes were rather small.

made me smile

Really never understood the point of that car, you'd be foolish to buy one over the 182.

205 1.9 GTI was fun, the new 207 GTI is a real waste of space and barely outruns a 1.9 diesel I know and love.

THE GTI ISN'T BACK - and won't be until it loses half it's weight!

peugoet have never made a decent hatch since the likes of the

106 gti and 306 gti

and before that the 205 gti and 309 gti (gotta love the 309 :) )

there new 'hot hatches are horrible and slow, they have lost the plot

Is it possible to retrofit the front calipers and / or disks to the rear hubs, even if only for cosmetic reasons?

I very much doubt it....

Still, at least its better than having drums on the rear :)

Looks sweet. Let me know how the discs take to the pads. Heard grooved eat pads alot quicker.

can someone explain to me what exactly is involved in this upgrade as I am curious ?

Buy 312mm brake calipers, pads, carriers and discs from an Audi TT. Fit them to a Fabia vRS. Done.

Stuff the brakes how's the best diff in the world. :)

me likey very much. yes the back discs look wee, but standard discs look wee anyway so wheres the problem lol

is there a major difference with the feel of the brakes???

Just be careful when you have to stop quickly.

The first time I had to use my brakes in anger, I nearly shat myself, as the car just stopped.

The bloke behind me nearly kissed the back of my head as well.

no basically feel the same as the standard fabia ones in my opinion. Brakes do seem good but ive got used to the vrs brakes as they are quite harsh
