Featured Replies

hello guys

the brake pad indicator has come on on my dash, well thats what i think it is cause there nothing wrong with the fluid level.

it came on yesterday an im not really gonna have chance to change them until after christmas, will this have much of an impact on the disks too?

Shouldnt do as long as get them done asap

cheers mate i was hoping they would be ok, there are no squeels and they feel fine.

i dont intend to do much milage over the next fews days anyway, what with all the festivities and drinking!

They tend to come on with a fair bit left anyway (based on those which I have seen), so I wouldnt worry for a few days.

The light does come on a bit early. Just drive a bit steadier until you change them. If you don't when the pad wears away the noise is an awful grinding noise. Reminds me of an old work mate who had a very early Favorit and he had driven around five hundred miles without any pad left. He still didn't change the discs when he put pads on.

Check the pads visually. I drove around with the light on for about 5-6 weeks before getting new discs + pads fitted.

Same for me, I was doing a 120 mile commute each day for about a month before I had time to change my front pads. Even then when I changed then, they there was still some friction matieral there (granted one of them was a bit low....!)
