Aaarrgghh!!

Having trouble sorting the sound system out in my Octavia Vrs! Firstly changed the headunit for a Sony CDX-GT414U which made a huge difference to the sound quality and looks perfect in the Octavia - not flash and black with green illumination. Then fitted some Infinty 6010cs front component speakers which took 2 days to fit but again made a huge improvement. Did break a tweater cover but that only cost 5 Quid from my Skoda dealer.

Now today decided to run the signal cables for my new Pioneer Amp, spent ages running them into the boot only to find out afterwards that once the leads are plugged into the back of the Sony headunit it won't go flush by about 15mm. Obviously I had the glove box off and could see the RCA leads getting squashed againsts the back of the dash.

Has anyone else had this problem and what have you done?

Was thinking possibly getting an elbow RCA lead adaptor but can't find any for sale, or cutting the plastic bracket that is getting in the way.

Think its a combination of the Autoleads plugs being too long and the possition of the connectors on the sony head unit. Anyway darkness stopped play and time for research!

Still an ICE Numpty but learning Fast :P

Any help appreciated.

I think its because there isnt that much room behind once you get all the cables plugged in unless you really know what your doing.

I know it took me about 5 attempts when i put my Alpine HU in with the iPod connection

I know what your saying but this insn't a case of having a jiggle about. Unless you can jiggle RCA plugs through a solid plastic bracket!

 i know that one.

I was tempted to get creative when i was installing my HU
