Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am curious abt the abovementioned model.

I wonder if the Gears of the 4wd can be strip to be a direct fit into a superb?

Keke...

Pardon my wild ideas..

Thing anything is possible with knowhow.

Would like to see it done.

Almost anything is possible with enough money/time/patiance...

That said the Passat & Superb share their platform with some minor differences. Even being fully aware of these variations wouldn't mean it's something that could be done in your driveway with a couple of wrenches (maybe with a couple of wenches & beers).

possibly but would probably take a lot of work as there might not be mountings for the diff and the rear suspsenion might be completely different(it is between the FWD and 4WD golf/leon/octavia etc).

you will also need to make a transmission tunnel...

easier to just swap the skoda badged bits over to the vw wouldnt it? ;)

whack a W12 in it...

Sorry won't fit, Yet a W8 could steal the cats meyow:orb_artis...

yeah it will.... anything can be made to fit anywhere ;)

It wouldn't be easy for sure.

The Superb has a longer wheelbase than the Passat for starters :)

no tom your wrong, they are based on the same platform so it must be completely straight forward with no issues at all

Sorry mate but your wrong there, yes they are based on the same platform but the Superb is stretched by 100mm to famously give the rear passengers extra leg room, So bengie is right in say the wheel base is longer! the Superb is second to a Merc for rear legroom, sit in a Passat and you'll see the difference, also look at the rear doors the Superbs rear quarter lights are built into the door to give better access where as the Passat rear quater lights are built into the body behind the door making the opening smaller, but on a plus side makes them easier to use in a car park which can be a problem with a passat rear door especially if you have kids.

I think you missed the sarcasm there

sarcasm?

moi?
