Skoda Screen Wash Concentrate.

Featured Replies

I have this bottle of concentrate which says on it 1:100.

My maths not being what it should be has led me to dilute this to 10 millilitres to one litre.

Is this right?

Chuck the whole bottle in!

You are better off getting the 1 litre bottle of lemon washer fluid from your dealer. I was told the little bottles of 1:100 stuff are more for removing bugs in the summer.

Apparently you're supposed to use the proper VAG approved stuff otherwise it eventually blocks up the nozzles, apparently.

I always use the Halfords cheap stuff though and no problems thus far.

BTW your maths is correct :)

The 1:100 stuff is also VAG sourced.

I presume it's this stuff?

Yep I've seen that too, I was certain that was summer only though.

So is that stuff really good at removing bugs??? I have a real problem along the A50 in the summer!!

It is good stuff, leaves glass totally smear and bug free but there is only enough to fill up the washer bottle three times so I dilute it further with a splash of meths.

I have found on, other cars, that the blue washer stuff tends to cause gunk to grow in the washer reservoir. Anyone else had this problem?

Happy Christmas to all.

So is that 100:1 good for winter too?

Never used it myself, I purchased a bottle some time ago and it's knocking round the house somewhere, i'll use it next time my bottle runs out so that shouldn't be too long given the state of the roads at the moment :D

I've not frozen up yet and it's been down to minus 5 outside.

Been using the Halfords greenish-yellow stuff for 2½ years with no blockages!

At present, it is three containers for price of two [as is all their winter chemical stuff]. Dilutes 4:1 for winter and about 20:1 for summer use.

Seems to work as good as most re: smears etc.
