Tow bar

Featured Replies

Hello,

Does anyone of any tow bars that are avaliable for the octavia hatchback that don't require the bumper to be cut? Need a tow bar, but really don't fancy hacking my bumper to pieces if I can help it

Cheers, Haydn

Yes I've got a witter on mine that doesn't need the bumper moding. See attached pic.

Excellent, cheers. You wouldn't happen to know the part/model number for it would you?

Hi niceyellowvrs

Sorry for the delay.....been out all day.

Yes, Mdk1 has found the exact tow bar for you, have just checked the Link out.

Witter towbars

Happy new year

does the bumper need modding if you use a 'genuine Skoda' towbar?

Great stuff. Cheers guys.

The "genuine" removable Skoda Towbar requires the bumper to be modified at the bottom on the "horizontal" part which cannot be seen unless you crawl under the car.

If you remove the towbar (removable version!) and flip up the wiring socket there is nothing left to show you have a towbar fitted.

I have a Bosal fixed towbar on my Octavia 1 estate. Installation required a small piece of the bumper to be removed, but if the towbar is later removed the missing area of bumper will only be visible from below the car. The Bosal towbar is the 'swan neck' design, which is far neater than the Witter as it does not have the large bolt either side of the towball, nor the flanges through which those bolts pass.

The best option is the removable version if you are really concerned about appearance, but it costs quite a bit more.
