I'm considering selling my vRS WRC.

This is not a for sale thread, I am just trying to get an idea of weather or not people think my estimated value is reasonable.

It's WRC Spec (side airbags, ESP, Xenon's, heated seats) and also has a golf leather arm-rest, Skoda MFD sat nav, Cupra R splitter, Milotec front bumper side vents and rear diffuser).

Mileage is 65k, condition is very good. It's had loving owners from new (as you would expect of a car like this) which is reflected in its condition.

Bad points :

It has a slight knock on the front near side... I think it's a drop link, or possibly a bush/ball joint... either way it will be sorted with any parts required over the next couple of weeks. There is a slight stutter... a common fault; again I will endeavor to repair this so it shouldn't be a problem if I come to sell it. The bodywork has a few (usual) stone chips along the leading edges and a slight mark on the rear bumper where a previous owner has reversed into something (looks like it was the corner of a wall or something... it's a vertical line of paint damage around 3 inches long).

I realise that the extras will never pay me back, but considering the overall condition and the fact that it's so rare/well spec'd... I am considering advertising it for £7999... I realise standard cars are available newer for this money, so do you lot think I would be asking too much? I'm not going to sell if I can't get somewhere around this mark.

I think you should be prepared to accept nearer £6500 - £7000 in my honest opinion... :(

A shame really, as they are very nicely specced, and look the business!!!

£6000ish as well, you may just have to keep it a while unless someone is desperate for a ltd edn one.

I got a half the mileage, 03, 1.8t 4x4 with leather etc for less than half what your looking for.

Thanks for the input. I might put it up at slightly over 7, with a view to dropping to 6750-7000ish. If I get no luck there I will keep it. I take your point on it's vaule, I just think to the right person it will be worth more than 6k, and it certainly is to me so I wouldn't sell it for that at the moment.

its the same problem with any limited edition. if you can find the right person whos after it he will pay nearer what you want, but to someone else its just a well spec'd octy.

few people i know with the vectra st200's have the same issue. to those who know about the lsd and performance mods they are worth way more than a normal vectra. but to a bloke in the street its just a white vectra with nice wheels!
