Hi

Out of curiosity , what Skoda parts are on a , VW, SEAT, AUDI. cars ?? I mean we all are aware of VW/ Audi parts on Skoda cars, possibly even Seat parts. What about Porsche ?? if they buy into VW will we see Porsche using Skoda parts, or the reverse happening maybe.

Octy 2, 1.9 TDI PD Ambiant 4x4 Estate and Nissan Sunny 2.0 DLX, Company Octy 1.9 TDI Tor Estate.

More likely to be the VW/Audi stuff being used on Skodas. I don't believe they make many/ if any components at the factory in Mlada Boleslav. However, they do have loads of crates of components shipped in - Their carpark is always full of lorries with "MAERSK" on the side. :D

I know loads of bits on my car are vw embossed. I'm pretty sure I've never seen any component which is actually skoda branded.

Porsche did used to use VW bits on the older 911s

The engine cover is branded Skoda..........

The lights Hella

My windscreen wipers Bosch

errrr

Nope can't see any Skoda branding.

Nope can't see any Skoda branding.

:cool:Loads on mine!

:)I remember not that long ago buying a new wiper motor for a Golf from a VW dealer. I was quite surprised to see that it was made in Czech by Pal....the main supplier of electrical parts on Estelles and Rapids!

I've seen a good few skoda branded parts, including one I've just taken off a friends MK V golf

Albeit it was only a small plastic trim.

I did have a central locking kit for my previous SDI fabia, that was branded with the Skoda Logo (with no sign of VW, Audi or Seat either)

You'll find that VAG don't make many "parts" at all. Most will be from third parties that are just stamped up with VAG logos.

Whe I bought our Fabia I was told all the small vag engines came out of a Skoda factory. However that was a salesman who told me that so ive no idea if its true or not.

OK... VAG own the entire outfit, they then have suppliers using many factories around the world for many different things, many components tend to be stamped VW/Audi but of course will be used over the entire brand to keep costs down, no point in making same part with different stamp on it, starts becoming expensive. Of course between models there will be differences which is where the branding comes in. I.e skoda trims will be different from Seat trims so different badging will be used...

A good example is Grab handles... there are at least 3 different types i know of...

VW Golf grab handle, with dampener - Badged VW/Audi

Fabia Grab handle - Badged VW/Audi but without the dampener attached

Seat Ibiza Grab handle - Badged Seat - Slightly cheaper plastic and travel is different - But same design and in effect same part.

The biggest difference lies with part no.s although all the same parts VW/Audi share part numbers, but Skoda and Seat have a slightly different numbering system.
