Octy vRS Standard Power Figures

Featured Replies

Hey everybody

Does anybody have a readout from a Dyno Dynamics RR that shows the power output from a Standard Octavia vRS?

The figure most bounced around is 218ish BHP - I'd like some concrete evidence to settle a discussion I'm having with one of the blokes I work with.

I just need a clear DD Readout showing the BHP - that should be enough.

Failing that I'll just have to get mine done again :P

Cheers

You wont see (genuine) figures anywhere near 218bhp!!.

There have been several runs done in the past and you'll find more information from two RR days we've done at JKM here and here.

One of the graphs from a 'non fettled' OctyII vRS shown here.

Cheers Steve

If you'll excuse me I'm about to be ridiculed :P

Ah :o ................................... well there's no need to lose face, it's the torque figures that impress most

I wonder who's graph that is Steve

That graph might look a bit different now though ;)

So that's 325lbft of torque - a record for the forum? :D

Looks much better now H.

Could always Photchop - 418bhp sounds more impressive ;)

Chris

by about 2lbft!!

not knocking yours as you make more power but looking through the second jkm lists i prefer this map as it seems smoother and makes more torque low down.

They're the same map.

The mods on that car would have included an FMIC.

the same map? blimey.

they make such different figures, the jkm graph shows the car making much more torque low down and less top end.

Interesting point. The JKM graph seems to be making 25lbft more at 2500 than the graph I posted, but the torque peaks at about the same time.

Could that be down to different rolling roads?

Chris

It could be, but both are Dyno Dynamics using the same shootout mode.

Other factors such as the user's selection for Boost, Timing, and Fuel on a Revo map play a part too, aswell as ambient temps etc. etc.

At a recent rolling road day my standard car with just 3000 miles on the odometer got:

206 BHP

210 LB/FT

These rollers are the most accurate/reliable Ive ever seen so Im betting these are realistic figures for my car.

Well the grilling has been dished out ;)

Nissan 200SX Drivers are pretty cool for the most - and despite my valiant attempts to explain why I bought my Octy over a Jap Import it seems I've come up against a brick wall.

Like a man - I admitted I was wrong and the rest is history, even though one of the lads from work just can't help himself with the continuing digs... despite telling me he was going to drop it ;)

Cheers for the replies guys

Nissan 200SX owner here :) I only dished out a few digs because you talk a load of rubbish sometimes Paul.

Anyway lets forget it and move on.

Like I said before, I have a small bit of respect for Skoda's but they're not for me and I see them more for people in pipe & slippers but that's my opinion.

I'm glad you are enjoying the car though and will be fun to get it on a drag day in York some time against Chris's.

Welcome to MY community! :D

First off - if you'd have read my posts in your forum you would have heard me say I was taking the mickey out of Chris's car - just like we do out of Mark for buying his girly white astra and Ben for driving his French piece of crap ;)

Think about it - how can I say Chris's car is crap and then say I like yours - the joke wouldn't have lasted very long :)

Chris knows that even if I did have to clarify several times - not to mention a three hour conversation the other night ;)

Heck even one of the members of SXOC realised that I could be a wind up merchant didn't they? :P

I'm not trying to convert you to Skoda you dope - you'd be a sellout if you did which I'm sure you're not!! :)

In terms of the pipe and slippers... well, you're half right :P

I do like your car lad... particularly the colour but at this time in my life it just ain't for me, though I'm sure I'll change my mind as I get older. ;)

I've got no problem with you or your car and will happily let it drop... we got off on the wrong foot and I think you just DON'T know how my sense of humor works!

Peace?

Peace fella!

Got no probs with you neither and actually think you're a cool guy at work :)

We're all car enthusiasts end of the day :)

Fair enough... can we stop the sucking up now before they all think I'm gay :P

...Too late

I'm at JH every Tuesday and Thursday... if ya fancy taking me for a spin then I'm up for it! ;)

The fastest most exhilerating experience I've had was in a TVR Griffith - and if you can top that I'll be impressed ;)

You are gay because you drive a Skoda :D (jokin)

Yeah would love to take you for a spin but would prefer in the summer when the weather is at it's best. Get plenty of feedback from the rear but still might get Racelogic TC soon though ;)

Hmm TVR have a tendency to be over confident about their cars power figures so I'll try my best :)

Hope you have a good new year too mate :)

Not to mention being excessively LOUD :thumbdwn:

Happy New Year to you too lad! :)

power techniques car magazine of greece measured the output of the tfsi on the dynojet dyno and found the output to be 218,6 ps/6037 rpm with elin 100 ron gasoline.the link is below.it might all look greek to you but if you click on the first picture you'll see the performance of each gasoline separately.shell and bp turned out to be a big disappointment as they have the worst performance.we do however have to take into consideration that all dynos measure differently and therefore results may vary and that the dynojet is not considered to be particularly strict.i'd say it's rather optimistic
