octavia engine cover/air filter

Featured Replies

Happy new year all!! Can someone tell me how the plastic engine cover comes off on my octavia 2006 petrol. I assume it just pulls off as there are no screws on top.

Also, air filter, is this under this cover ?

Rashy.

Give it a good hard tug and it should come off. As a tip, spray on some silcone oil to make it easier for future removals

Welcome to the forum btw :)

thanks, will try that.

As suggested give a good hard tug and don't be afraid to pull, one other tip though, if this is the first time the cover has been removed you may leave the rubber bungs fitted on the underside on the locators in the engine bay. If this happens remove and before inserting back into the engine cover apply some Silicone spray as Steve suggested but this time to get the rubbers back into the holes..........Ahem, :), not being suggestive there, you will know what i mean........;)
