Polishing and Waxing on older cars

Featured Replies

Try it out, then finish with a coat of Meg's Trim Detailer. See how that fares against the British winter :)

Right! Ive decided on the coarse of action...

The megs stage 1 and 2... finished off with a still undecided wax...

How good is the paste stuff you get... saw some turtlewax stuff in halfrauds this eve:

Turtlewax clicky

Simonize original hard wax is IMHO better and cheaper.

I really like collinite 476s and it lasts ages. I'd suggest putting a coat or two of something like turlewax gloss guard or AutoGlym EGP down before waxing so it lasts longer :)

Right... i think im getting it now... just ordered me polishing/waxing sponges off ebay as well as some microfibre cloths!

Think i will go for the collinite stuff (approx £15 off fleabay) and will probably grab some of thet turtle wax gloss gaurd too then.

Then just need some time to wash it and do it all! lol Maybe sunday!

Thanks again for all your help... there was just soooo much to choose from with everyone saying that they're the best i though i'd seek thoughts from people who use the products and know whats best!

Will post before and after pics once ive got her all cleaned up... rain-x'd me windows today too!

Cheers! :)

I think this is a bargain for Autoglym EGP Autoglym Liquid Hardwax £10.97 delivered 1 litre, 500ml EGP in Halfrauds is £11.99 I think. Hardwax is the trade version, just a different bottle label as I understand from detailing world forums.

Buggar! Might get that any too as its only an extra £4 on top of the collinite stuff for the pads and cloths which are always handy to have!!

Cheers

Might get that any too

I did - and have no regrets. Probably the best money I spent on detailing products!

Yep I got that one too. Might get another for the relatives too.
