Flash help

Featured Replies

Anybody a flash guru? I'm revamping SWMBO's company website, we used to (still have) have a static image at the top of every page, for the new site I've suggested something a bit more interesting, a flash banner.

Problem is, I know diddly about flash. I've played with Swish a couple of years ago but the features are a little limited, zoom in, zoom out etc. I don't want anything earth shattering, just some nice effects on a couple of random abstract images.

Where do I start? Are there templates or tutorials I could use? Would I be better paying somebody who could probably do it in a fraction of the time it would take me to attempt to do it?

Flash comes with some decent tutorials on simple animation. Think the first 4 or so teach you everything you'd need to know just to move stuff about and cross-fade etc. Otherwise there's a lot of demos on YouTube too.

You could pay someone and it'll be done quick, but if you're just animating and avoiding ActionScript and anything technical then it's likely you can do it yourself with time and have a laugh. Also means you'll have the knowledge when you come to want it changed.
