octy II vrs badges front and rear

black front grille

octy mkI vrs 17"

aero wipers

alpine headunit

Interesting this is an owner who is young and someone who hs bought 3 brand new cars in their lifetime & as stated is totally pennyless after spending on modifications on the car which as we all know come resale time adds 0% to the cars value it only alienates potential buyers.

I hope youu start saving up soon as the credit crunch is going to get far worse.

I do find it ROFALOL funny that someone would spend every penny they have on modifying the car I mean if this is your only worry/investmen lucky you however that £700 could have been added/started your saving towards a house deposit fund (irrespective of when you actually buy it).

Also the other thing were the spring you removed failed items - if so Skoda should replace under warranty or was it more like replacing perfectly fine items with new items?

Its a very valid point though and certainly prove what I stated on the other thread - no doubt this thread starter and his chums will get agressive over it but it doesnt detract from what is happening here 3 brand new cars a young driver and now is totally skint after paying for perfectly (until advised otherwise) servicable springs and shocks & also if under 3 years old then Skoda would have replaced them under warranty.

If he is skint and paid cash for the car well done - but on the other hand 3 brand new cars Id assume that would be not far off £10k loss in depreciaion over the three to date thats a nice house deposit down the gutter.

Crikey it's HIS money - don't be so picky, chaps!

I can't deny that you raise some valid points both here and in the other thread. But there's a time and a place for everything, and there's no need to be so sanctimonous! My jaw drops every time I see a student talking on here about their new vRS seeing how I could barely afford to keep my mountain bike in wearing parts whilst I was at university, and I might from time-to-time make some comment about how I wish I'd had that sort of cash to splash when I was a student, but it's not fair to go on about how foolish you think they've been - they're adults and it's their decision what they do with their money.

Just my 2p's

Mountain bike?! When I were a student we couldn't afford none of these fancy bikes and had to walk everywhere :rofl: Plus anything nice would have probably been nicked!

Chris

Car sounds fecking mint, all the mandatory mods, and the KWs should give it an awesome stance - looking forward to the pics!

Welshy, to some having a car is not just a mode of transport. Hobbies are designed to use up every spare penny ;) Its a lifestyle choice thing...

Your points have some validity of course, but the world would be a dull dull place if we all took your views onboard.

Actually I often did have to walk in-between my last bike being stolen and the insurance money for the next one coming through! :( Welcome to Longshighte!

Might explain why the trousers I wore at the time were 3 sizes smaller than the ones I wear now (even taking into account the falling-down skater pants I wore at the time...:D )

Anyway, back on-topic... ;)

Yes - walking for me too only, and taxi rides were about as frequent as Spurs winning the Cup.

I recall some parents fom my village giving their kids the option take £20k cash and dont go to Uni or go to Uni and they pay the costs (pre tuition costs mind), all went for the Uni paid for! Risk takers would have taken the cash and started their own business.

D Balentine always states this the Accountants/Doctors/Dentists/lawyers all have the ability to make their own company a success but they have so much more to risk than say someone who has nothing to lose & no education/secure £60k a year job.

i think if you have the money to spend on your hobbie then you should spend it and enjoy it

Hobbies designed to use up every spare penny... Running/Rugby/Football/Hiking/Tennis/Squash etc pretty low costs - even when I started playing Golf 2nd had clubs & bag only cost £150 and thats it £15 green fees when I pay - not a member of a club just turn up and pay the fees.

Sure I couldnt care less if OP loses a fortune or not however to point out the issues might make some stop and think and change. To me it seems most young folk these days just want everything NOW no saving up just get it on the Juice.

I am student, i spend loads on my car.

I dont however drink, so all the money i would be spend on drink i spend on my car.

I also work part time 25 hours a week :finger: thats on top of my full time engineering degree.

You say it adds 0% to the price of the car welshy, but the point of modifing is to improve the car in the areas you see fit to improve. To the right buyer these modifications would add value, or like in my case i intend to remove every modification before i sell on a standard car.

Welshy you talk sh**e 90% of the time.

I've put my response here so as not to hijack this thread...

Good suspension - Must be as I've got them. :D I was pretty jammy and got them 2nd hand (or was it 3rd hand :D) off a Briskodian for a good price.

I am only saying that as a friend who works for KW is veiwing this thread at the moment.

Dont forget my coilovers!

Nice work to date. Keep enjoying.
