Rear Skoda Badge

Featured Replies

Sorry forgot to ask about the rear badge in my other post. What is the best technique for removal and refitting of the the rear badge??

I usually use fishing wire to get badges off. Wrap it around the badge and pull.... as if you are trying to strangle the badge lol.

I find autoglym intensive remover is quite good for removing the remaining glue.

If you open the boot and take the plastic cover off above your head at the bottom of the rear screen you might be able to push it out too as it's held in with two little clips.

The lugs on the badge are there for one purpose only, that is for location so that it does not get fitted incorrectly, unless of course it gets fitted upside down. Front or rear they are only stuck on.

One method is to boil a kettle and then pour the hot water over the badge, this will loosen the adhesive. Then slowly pull from one corner. Done this many a time with success.

You could also use the fishing wire trick with the hot water to make it really easy.

Hi - kind of related question, what adhesive would you guys use to stick on the replacement badge (I need to do the same) :)

Ha, my front badge lugs were melted almost flat so as the badge did not come out.Iam pretty sure they were like that from new,and if they are just for aligning why are they so long?

I used that on the badge about 10 mins before, then i used a screwdriver with my finger under it as a lever and itwas off in seconds (no james bond style execution method here)

A new genuine badge comes with adhesive pad on it
