Octy 1 Turbo problem?

Featured Replies

Hello all! I hope I'm posting in the correct section..

I recently got my 1.8T Octy 1 remapped.

The upgrades done:

Custom Code Phase 2 Remap

Carbonio CAI

Forge Diverter Valve

Forge Turbo Intake Pipe

Evo Tuning heat shield

Milltek full exhaust (de-cat) & 2.75" down pipe

VAG top & bottom braces

Tarox pads

Before the upgrades were done, I had a damaged turbo gasket. Got a new gasket during the upgrades. But, after a few runs there was a leaking noise - result of a loose turbo bolt. Now, the bolts were tightened properly, yet one became slightly loose.

What could be wrong here? I was asked to take it easy for the next 100 miles. Am worried:(

Bump....!

Wow can you really get all that done in India?

Is it possible the threads have stripped?

I hope he used thread lock when putting the bolt back in.

@ Martziniuk - You sure can mate.

The bolts we used are new.

Er... stupid question this, but what is thread lock??

Thread lock is a liquid that is used on the bolts when installing them,it hardens to lock the bolt better and prevent movement.

The bolts maybe new but what about where the bolt screws into?

I wouldn't worry about it,if happens again, it happens again. You could always have it helicoiled ( new thread put in but slightly larger).
