Front Strut brace for vRS Engine bay?

Featured Replies

Well, i got an idea on how to make one that will not require (i don't think) any drilling.

I work in poilshed Stainless steel/ Alu all day so plenty of stock about.

However i don't belive in re-inventing the wheel so if there one already in production, please steer me in the right direction.

Cheers

I think the standard S3 strut would - not pretty but does the job - I think someone on here has fitted one, can't remember who tho

Failing that Demon Tweeks would be able to supply - probably have to order tho

S3 brace will require drilling as the S3 has studs on the bodyshell to accomodate the brace and the Octy doesnt.

It certainly does require drilling, I know as I fitted mine last night. All I can say is make sure you have some "sharp" metal drill bits! (I've knackered my set now and broke one of them in the process.)

Oh, and if you're buying 8mm bolts, try and get 25mm length ones so you don't have to hacksaw them to the right length.

Good thing is it looks like it was meant to be there now it's fitted, as said not pretty but does the job :D
