Wheel advice

Featured Replies

Will these fit on a Felicia and will they make a difference to the standard 13" wheels in terms of ride and handling.

Debating getting these or 13" Skoda Alloys or older 14" VW alloys.

Why not go for the skoda 14s as per my avatar, if you can source them cheap enough

I can't seem to find Skoda 14" ones

Not the 4 stud ones anyway

Its not even 4 matching tires?

I dont know if they would fit, but i would advice you to keep looking. I think there might be better deals.

Didnt bid.

I'm tempted by the Skoda alloys near Slough.

I just put a pair of BK Racing 14-inch alloys on the front of my Favorit, and in the process found that BK's website (BK Racing Limited UK - Alloy wheels. The UK's finest alloy wheel company. Wheels, Car accessories and high performance products) has a nice feature that tells you what sizes and offsets will fit various cars - useful for cross-referencing! I recommend their wheels and service too.

Yes, I did say a pair, by the way - a tip I got years ago from a friend is to go for wider, lower profile treads on the front but keep the back the same: neutralises the handling on many modern FWDs. He took it to extremes, with 185 Pirellis on the front of his Fiasco and 155 M/S tyres on the back, which made it downright twitchy, but my Fav is just nice with 185/55/14 on the front and 165/70/13 rear. 195/45/15 is also an option but I bottled out of that - considerations of London potholes and stuff as much as anything!

Looks like you have a v similar car to me matey - mk2 Felly in Silver. I put 13" Felicia alloys on mine from an N reg. I got them for £100 with decent tyres 4 years ago! The are in good nick and really make a difference to the appearance of the car. Handling wise they are probably not much better than the standard thirteens - though with some decent tyres on them it does help with grip.

See this link - end of page for some pics of my car :)

Yeah seen them pics. Very nice looking Felly

Seen these

Close to me but high price. But thinking about it it would cost a fair whack picking up those Skoda Alloys from down south.

If anyone wants a set of 4 Skoda steels though.....

Yeah seen them pics. Very nice looking Felly

Thanks mate - I m sure your will look as good - if not better than mine with some neat 14" wheels on it. Post some pics when you get them sorted.

Skoda did do some 14" 6 spoke alloys if you want to stick with the skoda styling. you may be able to find some from jm butts, or second hand.

Will put the money towards a nice new pc monitor instead.

Seen these VW Scala alloys

and these Polo Alloys

Might ask the guy in Wigan to see if the Alloys will fit on the car and spare wheel bay.

What do they mean by 5J, 5.5 and 6J?

The number is the wheel rim width in inches; the letter is the bead type.

The other figures you need are the Pitch Circle Diameter (PCD), which would be something like 4x112, meaning 4 hole, on 112mm PCD, and offset, which is a number like, say ET42, which imdicates how far the wheel's mating face is sideways from the nominal centreline. Go too far the one way, and the wheels will rub on the outer arches; too far the other way, and they might rub on the inners (particularly the fronts on full lock, and the rears on full bump).
