Not a new turbo....

Featured Replies

few days ago i posted that i was told i needed a new turbo on mk1 octy vrs due to a loose bearing (55 plate 24k miles) (under warranty so not a scam on me)

after waiting a day for new one to come in, I get the car back, runs great again. However, copy of the work says work was blown exhaust manifold, strip out air intake pipe/turbo and exh manifold.

Does anyone know how this can be so wrong?!

as weekend, not been able to call up to clarify with garage

(Henry's north in glasgow by the way)

Weird - worth checking, perhaps they got the worksheets muddled up? Or perhaps thats additional work they undertook.

No idea, but surprised. They told me that my rear discs were approaching the wear limit, but made no effort to get me to book the car in to get them changed.

That sounds right, the replacement turbo will come complete attached to the exhaust manifold. The exhaust manifold/turbo assembly usually comes out from the top which maens that the inlet manifold has to be removed.
