what I found interesting was the description of the engine.... It was still "well within" factory tolerances of new parts, which means they could have sold it as a new engine!!!!!

just goes to show how good modern oils/engines are, and another reason not to worry about an engine that is high mileage

the gearbox did break at 26,000 miles though!

Seen this before featured elsewhere - also done with a BMW Mini engine and that was found to be within spec.
