Problems with 07 2.0 TDI

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

please excuse my ignorance, I own a 07 2.0 TDI L&K and I've noticed 2 things recently, 1 is that first thing in the morning when driving off I've noticed that the clutch judders slightly in 1st gear until the car is warm, it never used too, the car has covered 14,000 miles  and secondly I noticed when washing the car that the front screen is delaminating and the lower edge (white milky). I owned a 55 1.9 TDI and had the screen replaced by Skoda due the delamination. Am I right in saying that the judder could be a DMF issue ? Like I said earlier please excuse my ignorance but I would have thought that the VW group would have resolved both of these issues by now. Many thanks

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem. I own a 2005 2.0 tdi elegance. Shudders and is quite sharp 1st thing in the morning and then is fine afterwards. Problem is, there are some mornings that the clutch if OK, some mornings it is worse. I have even left the car at the dealers overnight twice so that they tried it from cold,,worked fine both times... so nothing done. I had hoped that this issue had also been resolved since I have just ordered a new "2.0 L&K tdi to replace what is otherwise a brilliant car.

Your windscreen issue is something I have never come across. I'd hate to have a screen replaced unless it is cracked .

Hi, Look at the above thread concerning flywheels. Sounds like yours is suffering the same old problems that Scoda don't seem to have sorted out. Must be costing them a small fortune in warranty work to dealers. I just can't understand them using parts that keep failing.

The delamination issue is well documented on other threads if you do a search. Get to dealer and complain.......

Best of luck

I have also had this problem on an 05 car and had the screen replaced in warranty. Just replaced it with a 57 plate car and noticed the same thing. I will wait to nearer the end of warranty and a few stone chips later before getting it replaced. I was told it is one of the easier screens to replace and it goes in as a unit with the seal.

Sounds like DMF to me.

Get them to check the clutch bearings too if they replace it.

Well, I've booked it in for next week, they're gonna keep it over night and I've got to pop in in the morning to show/demostrate the judder issue. I'll keep you posted

Mine has a slight judder when pulling off for the first time in the morning but it only does it once or twice. There is also a juddering under full engine load in higher gears.

Oh well..............

Screen lamination is an issue. I had mine replaced under warranty because of this.

My 05 2.0tdi judders first thing in a morning as well (but unfortunately not every morning). Been into the dealers twice, left overnight both times, but no fault found both times, getting a little frustrating especially as when towing the caravan it can be interesting setting off.
