Jetex panel filters

Featured Replies

Is there one available for the mk II vRS? Whats the part number?

Anyone have them fitted?...experiences/comments, good/bad?

Would a pipercross/k&n filter be better??

Thanks

I've got the Pipercross foam filter. I couldn't say whether it's better or worse than any other panel filter.

I'm sceptical as to the performance benefits these filters actually provide. If they provide any additional power then it's so minimal it's impossible to tell. I notice more of difference by using V-Power as opposed to the cheap stuff. They do provide a better sound than OEM filters though.

I've got a Pipercross on my TDi, car RR'd today with improvements in both power and torque over an otherwise standard car.

Just put a pipercross filter in my vRS FSI not sure on the improvement like Jonno, does sound quite nice tho.

I have a jetex in my Diesel and I cant rate it highly enough for quality of finish, green & k&n were both loose fitting but the jetex was very snugh indeed. I guess the performance increase between the brands will be very similar though!

Very happy with my Pipercross over the past 9 months, engine seems smoother but cant vouch for any possible power increase.

I know you have a TFSI (mine's a TDI) but overall comments are similar;

Worth investing in a K&N 57i Induction Kit (for any 2.0L TDI Octy, not just vRS)

I checked out loads of info before I bought and decided that a cotton filter (as opposed to foam) gives the best filtration with least risk of oil contamination of MAF and increased 'breathability' is pretty much the same all round.

Pretty simple to fit and a bit of DIY gives me ram fed cold air through the OE intake (U shaped ducting) and shielding keeps hot engine air and water/spray from underneath away.

Here's the result;-

Put it to the test at the JKM RR day yesterday (was also running with V-Power and Millers DieselSport4, as I always do) and got 189.3bhp max. :D;)

Well chuffed with this on a 'bang for buck basis.

Hi. what does the tdi sound like with the 57i on? What sort of mpg are you getting?

I'm on std vrs but cant get more than 41mpg

Good throaty roar on full throttle and a fair degree of whooshing & hissing at low rpm/throttle opening. Nice. ;)

Overall I get 40-42mpg but most of my driving is either in unforgiving traffic or I am driving in an unforgiving manner. :D

Any chance of some audio clips bahnstormer?

Any thing else? Blood perhaps?

I'll see what I can do; I haven't got anything at present so will have to work out how to record something on my mobile phone, download it etc. etc. (may take as few days).

Got enough of my own, thanks!

Cool, in your own time! :)

I found the 57i kits to be problematic on older cars.
