hi guys please could anyone help as im about to lose the will to live i have a 2005 mk1 octavia vrs and have bought some upgrade bulbs no according to all the sites there a h1 and a h7 however they dont seem to fit ? please could anyone asdvise and help me keep my sanity .

I think you may find they are for the Mk II.

The headlight bulbs for the Mk I are H4 IIRC but I'm sure someone will be along to confirm shortly!

Just checked, the H1/H7 are defo the mark 2. You may have a 2005 Mk I (I have the same) but when using parts finders you need to put in that your car is post 1998 to get the correct parts. If you put in post 2004 you will bring up parts for the mark II Octavia.

Mk I are H4 for dip and main beam, and H3 for foglight.
