Maxi Dot display and radio frequency?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to turn on the upper display that shows the radio frequency on my Superb? My upper display (maxi-dot) is black, not showing anything...

Do you have the standard stereo? If not you may need an interface cable to enable this to work. If you have the original stereo then you may have a connection problem. Mine sometimes doesn't show up, and I have the standard unit. Turn it off for 5 minutes, all is fine.

on the other hand, this could be related to the ongoing fault reported by many - if you have a multichange CD, does it sometimes refuse to recognise CDs; do you sometimes get a message in German stating that the SatNav is not working?

Okay, should the display show what CD that are currently playing?

My display is black all the time...

I also have a problem withy my controls for volume etc on the multi steering wheel, like many others with Superb. Do you think these two problems are related?

Yes I would think that they are related, connection problem somewhere, as the maxi dot display will be fed its info by the stereo, and with control via the steering wheel mounted controls will mean its a connection problem connected.

As for not recognising CD's mine does this on occasion, either taking out and reinserting the cartridge will stop this, or changing from radio and back to cd sometimes works.

And as for the German words, yes that happens too from time to time.

How can i check this? VAG-COM? Maybe there is a iso-contact that is not 100% connected?

May sound silly, but is the radio the original one, and if so is it pushed back correctly? If not might be an idea yo pull it out and see if a lead has come adrift at the back?

Failing that I am not sure if vag-com would show this up, but as I said, I am not sure, but someone should be able to confirm whether or not this can be checked that way.
