Fabia Elegance Stereo, is it different?

Featured Replies

I have seen quite a few people saying that the stereo's in the fabia is not what it might be, just wondering if they all use the same speakers? Just because I have a 2.0 elegance and the stereo is fantastic, I am a real music fan, have a BOSE system at home but still find the sound quality pretty fantastic for a standard fit item, interestingly my brother's fabia RS is no where near as good, just thought that it could be the answer to finding suitable replacement speakers (as I understand this is fairly difficult) if Skoda can supply decent speakers??

My understanding was that the speakers are good, it's the head unit that is poor quality. Mine had an aftermarket Alpine head unit in it when I bought it so can't compare quality of before and after.....

I have a poor stereo. Reception from the radio is rubbish. Sound output isn't bad, but it's a crap unit. It's a MS402 stereo unit.

I am really suprised! I am just using the standard head unit but the reception is fine, I use my mini-disk through it and the sound is great. I wonder if the speakers in my car are non-standard then? I bought it as an ex-skoda car, one of the first 2.0 in the country I think, I was just wondering about the speakers as we have 4 fabias in our family and mine has by far the best sound of any of them???? Weird! :D

If you haven't had it from new , then the speakers have almost certainly been replaced at some point

I don't think anything is wrong with the speakers just the HU

The original speakers and HU in my Octy vRS were totally crap!

Now running a Kenwood MD Player and Infinity 5 1/4" Components. Sound has improved but still crap.

Will b better when i get round to fitting my amps and stuff.

Bose + Music....hmmm ;)

Is it a cassette player? If so then yes, there are two different models, one compatible with CD changers, one not. I don't know whether there's any difference in sound quality between them.

I was very happy with mine, and I had the basic model. It's a very simple and clear design and not a likely target for thieves. My only problem with it was that it didn't play CDs.

Yes it is the cassette player, it just made me wonder when I listened to the other stereos in the other 3 Fabias in our family and mine was by far the best! maybe just biased! :)
