Hi new to all this, but have found the site really useful. on friday we collect our octavia ambiente 2.0tdi (54 plate new shape). I know there is a lot of information on fitting mfd2 sat nav - which really does appeal. the oh is coming round... slowly.

Just a couple of questions are all the mfd2 the same size, is a RNS skoda sat nav completely different, is it easy to install to the ambiente - is the wiring in place and how do you know what fascia you need. OH will more than likely fit it.

Thank you for any help - as i'm confused. -it has taken me two evenings to work out what vagcom was!

MFD2 is the same size as the RNS510 (Columbus).

The dashboard fascia is slightly different for the Nav units, a new one is really cheap especially if you have the black dash.

The wiring is in place, you'll just need a GPS antenna.

Can easily be done in under 30 mins.

It can be a little tight getting the original dash off but it will come with perserverance.
