Fiat 1.3 Mulitjet 75

Featured Replies

Anyone know if this engine is any good? A friend is considering one in a Grande Punto. It has had good reports but Fiat has dropped the 90bhp version (with VGT) and I guess that 75 bhp might be a bit underpowered.

From an engineering point of view it looks good: twin cams, 16 valves and chain cam (so no rip off changes).

very good lil engine....probably more suited to the smaller panda though. Saying that the 1.4D4D in the Toyota Corolla seems to manage ok:thumbup:

take it for a drive...see what you think:cool:

so good, vauxhall don't even make the deisels, just buy them from fiat ;) the 1.3 in the corsa is from the same.... the 1.9 150bhp one in the vectra, is the same as the one in mine....

and the 1.3... 120kg CO2 so £35 a year to tax!

as far as I remember, they dropped the 90 bhp one, because there is a new 1.6 mutijet that fills that gap....

When looking for SWMBO's replacement I test drove both the 75 and 90 diesels, the 90 suffered badly from lag whereas the 75 felt much perkier when on the move, better even than the 70 in the Panda despite the extra weight of the GP.

the lag in the 90 had been commented on by lots of customers, I believe thats why they deleted it, and replaced with the 1.;6 m/jet
