Can someone explain how I reset the seat memory functionality. No matter which button I press the seat will not hold or reset any memory settings. The car is a 06 Superb Elegence.

The other electric movements work perfectly, only the memory features don't seem to want to work !

A bit of a pain to remember if you don't move it often, but handy if your wife is 12" shorter!

The rear red button turns the 3 memory buttons on and off.

To store the memory -

Switch ignition on then set the seat position and set the door mirrors in position.

Press and hold one of the memory buttons for a few seconds until it beeps.

Make sure the door mirror switch is in position L (R for left-hand drive) and select reverse gear.

Move the passenger door mirror into the position you want for reversing.

Press and hold the same memory button again until it beeps.

Then within 10 seconds, take out the key and press and hold the unlock button until it beeps. This sets the seat position to the key, so the seat will automatically move back to position whenever the car is unlocked with that key.

To move the seat to memory position-

Switch ignition off and either

open driver's door and push memory button, or

with door shut, press and hold memory button.

phew! The only thing I can't remember is whether the memory buttons are turned on when the rear red button is in the up or the down position!

- switch the ignition 'on'.

- ensure that the red button behind buttons 1 to 3 is 'on'.

- set the seat and the door mirrors to your liking.

- engage reverse, set the door mirror selector to 'left', and set the near-side mirror to the best view for reversing.

- press the appropriate button (1, 2 or 3) until it pings.

You have now set the driver's seat & door mirrors' memories.

Now withdraw the ignition key and press its 'open' button until the car pings again. You have now set the car's memory to return the seats & memory to the stored values.

The seat has three memory settings and each one can be associated with a remote key fob as described above. Thus up to three users can each have their preferred seat & mirror settings memorised by the car, and whenever any of them unlock & open the driver's door with their remote key the seats & mirrors will automatically return to their chosen positions.
